Skyway Celebrates National Traffic Awareness Month

At Chicago Skyway, safety is our #1 priority, and we want to make sure you stay alert and safe while driving. As we enter the final weeks before students return to school, we can expect more people on the roads trying to squeeze in a few more activities before summer ends.

August is National Traffic Awareness Month, and the Chicago Skyway wants to make sure you are taking extra precautions as you and your family get on the road this month. To ensure that you stay safe, we wanted to share some important safety tips with you.

To make sure you stay safe we want to remind you to:
+Avoid speeding
+Use your mirrors and check your blind spots
+Always use a turn signal
+Give yourself enough space between the car in front of you
+Always stop at red lights and stop signs
+Keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicycles
+Only use your phone in the car if you have a hands-free device
+Slow down when driving near a school bus and keep watch for children entering or exiting the bus

These are just a few tips to keep top of mind while you are behind the wheel. To keep the conversation going this month, please feel free to share these tips on your social pages and remind your friends and family that it is National Traffic Awareness Month.
